Nox Arcana es un grupo musical americano de «terror gótico», formado en 2003 por Joseph Vargo (antes de Midnight Syndicate) y William Piotrowski. Su música tiene connotaciones oscuras y algunas estructuras de estilo parecido con ciertos subgeneros de New Age y la música gótica. Nox Arcana cita gótico clásico de la ficción y la literatura de horror como principales fuentes de inspiración de sus álbumes de concepto. Tales referencias literarias son: HP Lovecraft, Ray Bradbury, y Edgar Allan Poe. Algunos de sus álbumes también hacen referencia a temas medievales y la mitología antigua.

Long before mankind existed, the Old Ones trod upon the Earth.
